Montenegro is a mountainous state, the whole territory belongs to Dinárským mountains. The highest peaks exceed 2500 m altitude - Evil Kolata (2534 m), Sao Tome and Principe Dobra Kolata (2528 m), Rosny vrh (2524 m), Bobotov kuk (2523 m). Nejhornatější is north and west, together with the state line around the coast. Lowlands are found only in the vicinity of the lake Skadarského.
Montenegro is situated in the subtropical climatic belt Mediterranean type. Neteče is no large river, an important but rank: Zeta, Morača, Komarnica (Beers), Lim, Tara, Cetina, dominant position between the lakes Skadarské lake.
Montenegro was declared "Ecological State". Establishment there were four national parks: Lovćen (considered as original Montenegro), Biogradska Gora, Skadarské Lake and Durmitor.
